KATHMANDU: CG Corp Global Managing Director Varun Chaudhary has credited Indian billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani with saving his life following a severe accident in the Maldives.
Speaking at the NDTV World Anviksha Summit, Chaudhary described Adani not only as a key business mentor but as the person responsible for his survival. Recounting the incident, he shared that Adani dispatched a private jet equipped with medical professionals to evacuate him when he suffered a massive accident abroad.
Beyond professional guidance, Chaudhary praised Adani for his remarkable humility and encouragement despite operating businesses at an unimaginable scale.
During the address, Chaudhary also reflected on the global rise of ‘Wai Wai’, the iconic instant-noodle brand produced by his family’s enterprise. Describing its cross-border journey, he noted that the brand “travelled the world without a passport,” initially carried abroad by young Nepali students attending boarding schools in India and beyond.
India quickly emerged as a vital market, propelling ‘Wai Wai’ into roughly 100 countries worldwide. Chaudhary added that the massive success of the noodle brand has served as a foundational platform for CG Corp Global to scale its operations into 15 distinct business verticals globally.
