KATHMANDU: The World Health Organization (WHO) is going to send necessary medicines and health equipment for those affected by the flood that hit the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa this morning.
The Ministry of Health and Food Safety said that after talking with Minister Nisha Mehta, WHO is planning to send basic medicines and health equipment sufficient for a thousand people.
It is also reported that 15 emergency tents of 24 square meters each are being sent to the affected area.
According to the ministry, 100 emergency beds have been set aside at Bir Hospital and the Trauma Centre in Kathmandu for flood victims. So far, the ministry has also reported that three injured people have been rescued and brought to Kathmandu.
The ministry has stated that coordination is ongoing with the federal hospital in Kathmandu, the blood transfusion centre, the health ministries of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, Nepal Red Cross, Lions Club, and Nepal Scouts for emergency health services.
Preparation has been made for dispatching some doctors and health workers to the affected areas through the Nepal Red Cross and Nepal Scouts. The ministry has said that it has already sent three doctors and two nurses who work at the Trauma Centre to the affected areas.
Similarly, the ministry stated that an ambulance equipped with necessary medical equipment has also already headed towards the affected area.
According to the ministry, collaboration is also established with the health post in Dhunche, Rasuwa, and Rasuwa Hospital in this connection. The ministry has stated that for emergency health-related help, information, and coordination, one can contact 1115.
