GULMI: A 55-year-old woman died after falling while trying to chase away monkeys in Resunga Municipality-7, Gulmi, on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Kamala Pandey, a resident of Kudapani in Resunga Municipality-7, according to the District Police Office, Gulmi.
Pandey slipped while walking along a narrow trail in the local Niureni forest and fell approximately 25 metres down the slope. She sustained serious injuries and was rescued by police before being taken to Gulmi Hospital in Tamghas for treatment.
She died during treatment this evening, said Birendra Bir Bishwakarma, information officer at the District Police Office.
After receiving information about the incident from locals, a seven-member police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Bishnu Bahadur Pandey was immediately dispatched to the site. The team rescued the injured woman and transported her to the hospital.
