KATHMANDU: Internet service provider WorldLink Communications Ltd. has surpassed 1.1 million fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) subscribers, marking a major milestone in Nepal’s broadband sector.
The company said the achievement gives it an estimated 35% share of Nepal’s FTTH market, reinforcing its position as the country’s leading internet and digital service provider.
Founded in 1995 with email services, WorldLink has expanded from dial-up, cable and wireless internet to nationwide FTTH connectivity. Since launching FTTH services in 2015, the company has significantly expanded high-speed internet access across Nepal.
WorldLink also said it has recently introduced Wi-Fi 6 technology, offering faster speeds, wider coverage, lower latency and improved performance for multiple connected devices.
According to the company, its services are now available in 74 districts, extending from the Himalayan region to the southern plains, including remote Jumla and Annapurna Base Camp. WorldLink said the subscriber milestone reflects the trust of its customers, employees and partners and reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Nepal’s digital transformation.
