KATHMANDU: Minister for Agriculture and Environment, Gita Chaudhary, has asserted that the government has put the matter of creating employment opportunities in agriculture and environment sectors at the top priority.
Issuing a message on the occasion of International Youth Day today, Minister Chaudhary expressed the view that the innovative thinking, energy and the desire of doing something should be utilized in nation’s prosperity through expansion of youth participation.
She opined that the youths have significant contribution in innovative thinking for the development of agriculture sector as well as to protect forest and environment.
Underlining that youths are the strong human resources in nation’s development, she emphasized that rural areas should be connected with technology to make youth empowerment effective.
The main slogan of this year’s International Youth Day is “Different Contexts, Shared Aspirations.” This Day has been observed on August 12 since 2000 at the call of the United Nations.
The International Youth Day is observed with an objective of increasing participation of youths in youth-centric policy making and society in national and international-level.
