KATHMANDU: The auspicious hour for receiving Dashain tika this year is 10:26 am on October 21, according to Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikas Samiti (Calendar Determination Development Committee).
According to the Committee, one can receive tika from seniors as the prasad of goddess at the 10:26 am auspicious hour by immersing the statute of goddess Durga at 8:49 am on the same day. Those receiving Dashain tika should face west.
Chairperson of the Committee, Dr Purushottam Bhattarai told RSS that although the auspicious hour for Dashain tika has been set, people can receive tika whole day on the day of Bijaya Dashami.
Similarly, this year’s Dashain festival is beginning from October 11. The first day of Dashain festival is Ghatansthapana. The auspicious hour for Ghatasthapana is 11:47 am. The auspicious time for changing flag is 10:07 am, Bhattarai added.
Pachali Bhairav procession would be held on October 15 while Phulpati (Saptami) will be observed on October 17 as well as the auspicious hour for Taleju Bhawani procession is set at 7:37 am on the same day followed by auspicious hour for Sthirasan at 10:39 am.
Maha Astami will be observed on October 18 and Kalaratri festival is also observed on the same night. Mahanavami festival falls on October 20. The main day of Bijaya Dashami will be observed on October 21.
The committee has determined auspicious hour for receiving tika at 10:26 am.
