KATHMANDU: The Bhatbhateni Super Market store in Tangal officially resumed operations on Monday following the completion of reconstruction work after a fire. The store, which had been closed since the incident, has now returned to providing regular daily services.
According to Panu Paudel, chief operating officer of Bhatbhateni Super Market, the Tangal branch is now fully operational. Out of the 12 stores damaged by fire last year, 10 have now been reopened. The company stated that the remaining stores in Damak and Hetauda are in the final stages of reconstruction, with structural and equipment management work currently underway.
Despite the significant damage caused by the fire, the company confirmed that the jobs of its more than 10,000 employees remain secure. The management stated that no staff members were laid off and that employees received their full Dashain bonuses despite the incident that occurred on Sept. 10 last year. Previously, the Koteshwor store was brought back into operation within five months of the fire.
Additionally, the company has contributed over Rs 710 million to a children’s hospital under construction in Kathmandu. The company stated that the funding aims to provide international-standard medical facilities to children in Nepal under one roof. Reaffirming its commitment to providing modern and quality services to customers, the company expressed its gratitude to employees, customers, and stakeholders for their support during the recovery process.
