KATHMANDU: A total of 79 police inspectors graduated from the National Police Academy in Maharajgunj following the completion of their basic training program.

During the graduation ceremony for the 184th batch, Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki urged the newly commissioned officers to uphold professional integrity and duty toward the public.

Inspector General Karki emphasized that officers must avoid personal interests, undue influence, and the misuse of their authority, noting that such actions damage the reputation of the police organization. ‘This position grants authority, but character gives that authority legitimacy.

Therefore, there should be no compromise on professional dignity, integrity, and discipline,’ he stated. He further instructed the officers to remain free from fear, temptation, favoritism, and bias while performing their duties.

Prime Minister Balendra Shah, the chief guest at the event, presented the Kulananda Vidya Award to the top trainee, Chopa Bahadur Denga. Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Govinda Bahadur Karki, distributed awards to other outstanding trainees, including Gopal Rai, Ramkumar Jiti, Bikash Kumar Dhami, Bishal Paudel, and Balkrishna Pokhrel, who excelled in various categories.

The oath of office was administered to the graduating inspectors by Additional Inspector General of Police Rajan Adhikari, the executive director of the National Police Academy.

Following the swearing-in, the graduates performed a parade in honor of the Prime Minister. Deputy Inspector General of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya presented the training report during the ceremony.
