KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs has announced that advance ticket booking for long and medium-distance vehicles will open starting Friday. The decision aims to facilitate passenger travel during the upcoming festival season.
Federation Chairman Punya Prasad Sitaula ‘Saroj’ stated that passengers can begin booking their tickets on Friday morning. He noted that the federation has completed all necessary preparations to manage potential crowds and prevent the exploitation of passengers during the holidays.
Sitaula urged passengers to pay close attention to three specific details when purchasing tickets. ‘Passengers must be clear about their destination, travel date, and seat number before booking. Whether booking online or at a counter, please ensure these details are verified,’ he said.
The federation has warned that it will maintain strict surveillance to prevent black market activities during the booking process. Sitaula cautioned that any operator found charging more than the fixed fare or hoarding tickets will face strict legal action. The federation has advised passengers to avoid crowds and purchase tickets only through official counters or verified online platforms. Furthermore, transport operators have been instructed to ensure the roadworthiness of vehicles and exercise caution with drivers to guarantee safe and comfortable travel for all passengers during the festival period.
