All-party meeting calls for unity and international disaster compensation

A A+ A-

KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting hosted by the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party concluded that political forces must stand united to support the government during natural disasters.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Rastriya Prajatantra Party parliamentary leader Gyanendra Shahi said the recent disaster was not caused by Nepal.

He stated that the country is suffering due to carbon emissions from major polluting nations. Shahi argued that Nepal should pass a parliamentary resolution to claim compensation from the international community, international courts, or the United Nations.

The meeting also discussed ongoing rescue efforts for individuals trapped in tunnels, relief distribution to affected communities, and the need for seamless coordination among federal, provincial, and local levels of government during times of crisis.
