KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has made a sarcastic remark following comments made during the inauguration of the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress. He issued the statement via his official Facebook page on Sunday, referencing the event held at Khula Manch.
In his post, Mayor Shah wrote, “It is a good thing Khula Manch was renovated, so that new parties can hold programs and have the opportunity to criticize.”
During the inauguration ceremony held at Khula Manch, Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa addressed the status of the parliament. Thapa stated that the parliament could not be considered open until the prime minister attends the sessions.
Mayor Shah’s social media post followed Thapa’s remarks at the convention. The mayor’s statement is being viewed as a direct response to the criticism directed at him during the Nepali Congress event.
