NEPALGUNJ: Banke district recorded the registration of 1,253 new industries and commercial firms under the industrial and commerce administration in the fiscal year 2082/83. According to the Cottage and Small Industry Office in Banke, these include 627 new industries and 626 commercial firms.
Acting Chief Industry Officer Mohan Ghartimagar stated that with the new registrations, the total number of industries in the district has reached 15,807. During the same period, 1,101 industries were renewed, while 265 were cancelled. In the previous fiscal year 2081/82, the office recorded 657 new industry registrations, 1,042 renewals, and 309 cancellations.
On the commercial side, the registration of 626 new firms brought the total to 21,980. Records show 1,688 firms were renewed and 356 were cancelled during the year. In the fiscal year 2081/82, there were 712 new firm registrations, 1,661 renewals, and 527 cancellations.
To ensure regulatory compliance and quality, the office conducted seven market monitoring visits and 11 industrial inspections throughout the year. For the fiscal year 2082/83, the office had a total budget of Rs 30.39 million, of which Rs 22.51 million was spent, marking a total financial progress of 74.08 percent.
The office collected Rs 16.31 million in revenue during the last fiscal year. In comparison, the revenue collection for the previous fiscal year was Rs 19.73 million.
