KASKI: Bhutan’s national cricket team lost to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN)-11 in a practice match of the T20 men’s cricket held in Pokhara today.
In the match held at the cricket ground in Pokhara Stadium, CAN-11 defeated the Bhutanese team by 13 runs.
The Bhutanese team, visiting Nepal to prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier ‘A’, had already played two practice matches in Pokhara.
The Bhutanese team was defeated in both games against the home team Gandaki. Chasing the target of 124 runs set by CAN-11, Bhutan managed only 110 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the full 20 overs.
Earlier, after winning the toss and batting first, CAN-11 made 123 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
President of the Gandaki Provincial Cricket Association, Sanjay Kanta Sigdel informed that the Bhutanese team will play against CAN-11 in the final practice match on Friday.
The ICC Men’s T-20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier ‘A’ tournament is set to begin in Malaysia from October 3.
For preparation and practice, Bhutan has chosen the cricket ground in Pokhara.
