KATHMANDU: The body of a man was found inside the historic Ranipokhari pond in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening. The deceased is estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old, according to SP Dan Bahadur Thapa of the Kathmandu District Police Range.
Police discovered the body at approximately 7:30 p.m. The identity of the man remains unknown. While his clothes were found near the edge of the pond, officials reported that no documents or items identifying the individual were recovered.
Review of CCTV footage from the area shows the man swimming toward the center of the pond. The body has been sent to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The Darbarmarg Police Circle is currently investigating the incident.
