KATHMANDU: The government has decided to accept grant assistance of approximately Rs 100 million from the government of Norway to promote clean energy transformation programs in municipalities. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday, according to government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel.
The meeting also approved the second amendment to the Nepal Engineering Service (formation, group and classification and appointment) rules under the Ministry of Infrastructure Development. Furthermore, the cabinet granted approval for the alternative development finance mobilization regulations.
Additionally, the cabinet decided to promote Joint Secretary Padma Kumar Mainali to the post of secretary under the Nepal Engineering Service group. Minister Pokharel stated that Mainali has been assigned to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.
