KATHMANDU: The government has promoted Achyut Mani Neupane, a joint attorney at the Nepal Judicial Service, to the gazetted special class. Minister for Communication and Information Technology Dr. Bikram Timsina stated that the cabinet meeting held today decided to appoint Neupane as the secretary of the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons following his promotion.
The cabinet also approved three other major decisions. The government has granted approval to sign a mandate agreement with the World Bank regarding the Nepal Earthquake Catastrophe Fund. Additionally, the cabinet approved the formation order for a committee tasked with registering land in the names of individuals living on bitauri land, effective for 2083.
Furthermore, the cabinet decided to provide cash awards to players, coaches and managers of the women’s kabaddi and karate teams who secured medals during the 20th Asian Games.
