KATHMANDU: Bearing in mind of an increasing risk for water-borne diseases in the floods-affected areas, the government has dispatched vaccines and drugs against cholera to Rasuwa.
It is said 21 thousand doses of cholera vaccines received from the support of World Health Organisation (WHO) was dispatched to Rasuwa on a Nepali Army helicopter on Sunday morning.
Earlier, Minister for Health and Food Safety, Nisha Mehta, issued directives for the authorities concerned to promptly manage drugs, vaccines, health materials and necessary public health services for minimising risk of cholera outbreak and other water-borne diseases in the disaster-hit zones.
