KATHMANDU: Citizens Bank International Limited has donated Rs 22.2 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support rescue and relief efforts for victims of the Bhotekoshi river floods.
Bank Chairman Prabal Jung Pandey handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Finance in Singha Durbar today. The event was attended by bank board member Digbijay Bista and Chief Executive Officer Ganesh Raj Pokharel. The bank expressed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the disaster and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
In addition to the central contribution, the bank’s Devighat branch, which was completely damaged by the floods, distributed essential food supplies including rice, lentils, flour, oil, salt, and other items to affected residents in Bidur Municipality-5, Nuwakot. The bank stated that it continues to prioritize corporate social responsibility initiatives in health and education and will maintain these efforts in the future.
Citizens Bank currently serves 2.06 million customers through a network of 200 branches across 61 districts, 169 ATMs, 3 extended counters, and 42 branchless banking units.
