KATHMANDU: Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya inaugurated a newly constructed concrete bridge over the Rangsing river in Arghakhanchi on Sunday. The bridge connects Ward No. 11 and Ward No. 9 of Sitganga Municipality.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Acharya stated that the completion of the bridge resolves the long-standing transportation challenges faced by local residents during the monsoon season. He emphasized that the role of local communities and elected representatives is vital in preserving the infrastructure built by the government. He added that the provincial government is actively working across sectors including roads, bridges, drinking water, education, and health.
Minister for Social Development Ramji Prasad Ghimire described the project as a result of the collective efforts of elected representatives. He expressed confidence that the bridge would help connect remote settlements of Sitganga to the mainstream of development.
The bridge is expected to simplify daily travel for residents of Sitganga-11 and 9. It is also anticipated to facilitate the marketing of local agricultural products, improve access to schools for students, and ensure easier travel to hospitals for medical treatment.
