KATHMANDU: General Secretary of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Aren Rai, stated that the Nepali Congress was established through long-standing struggle and sacrifice rather than mere rhetoric. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, Rai highlighted the party’s significant role in establishing democracy in Nepal.
‘We have read and observed the history of the Nepali Congress extensively. The Nepali Congress is not a party established by rumors,’ Rai said. He noted that throughout the party’s history, numerous leaders and cadres contributed to nation-building by setting aside their personal aspirations.
‘It is a party built by killing one’s personal dreams and sacrificing those dreams for the sake of nation-building,’ he remarked. Rai suggested that the Nepali Congress should prioritize working for the welfare of the people in the coming days rather than focusing on how long it remains in power.
