KATHMANDU: Consumers in the Kathmandu Valley will be able to swap empty cooking gas cylinders of any brand starting this Sunday.
The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association introduced the arrangement following complaints from consumers who faced difficulties exchanging cylinders from different brands during the festive season.
The association stated that gas sales and cylinder exchanges will take place at six designated locations across the valley from Sunday, Oct. 11, to Saturday, Oct. 17. The centers will operate daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The initiative is being conducted in coordination with the Nepal Oil Corporation and the Gas Dealers Federation.
In a statement issued by association president Diwan Chand, it was clarified that gas imports from various Indian refineries remain consistent, with 4,213,661 cylinders distributed in August alone. While supply remains stable, the special arrangement was implemented specifically to address challenges regarding cylinder exchanges during the festive period.
Designated exchange locations include Sifalchaur for Everest and Sugam gas, Pepsicola for Sagar gas, and the area in front of the Balaju Industrial Area gate for Nepal, HP, Gita, Rajdhani, and Triveni brands.
Additionally, exchanges for Baba and Shree gas will be available at Sukedhara, Saibaba and Shrikrishna gas at Kalanki, and Shriram gas at Harisiddhi.
