Continuous rain disrupts daily life in Kathmandu

A A+ A-

KATHMANDU: Daily life in the Kathmandu Valley has been disrupted due to persistent rainfall triggered by the ‘Arnab’ cyclone, which developed in the Bay of Bengal.

The rain, which began on Saturday morning, has affected various regions across the country.

The overcast skies and continuous downpour have hindered routine activities for residents. Traffic congestion has increased on the roads, making movement difficult for commuters.

Pedestrians, cyclists, and those using two-wheeled vehicles are among the most impacted by the weather conditions.

Meteorological forecasts indicate that the cyclone will continue to cause cloud cover and rainfall in several parts of the country.

There is also a possibility of snowfall in high mountainous and hilly regions. Authorities have advised the public to remain cautious, as the ongoing rain could lead to rising water levels in rivers and streams, alongside an increased risk of landslides in hilly areas.

The disruption to outdoor activities and travel has significantly impacted life in the Kathmandu Valley throughout Saturday.
