KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai on bail in an electronic transaction case.
A bench presided over by District Judge Umesh Prasad Luintel issued the order on Tuesday, requiring a bail amount of Rs 200,000.
The Cyber Bureau had arrested Prasai on June 26. The police had registered a case against him under the Electronic Transactions Act following a complaint filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Rachana Khativada.
Prasai was accused of making derogatory remarks on YouTube, alleging that the lawmaker had traded her parliamentary position for her son’s remains.
