KATHMANDU: The ‘Facial House Presents Celebration Cultural Program 2083’ has been linked with social responsibility this year. The event was held in Kathmandu on Saturday with the objective of supporting citizens affected by the Bhote Koshi floods.
Organized under the slogan ‘Let us celebrate festivals and also support flood victims,’ the event featured cultural performances alongside a bridal makeup competition. The organizers stated that the funds collected during the event will be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Sushma Mahara, founder and managing director of Facial House, emphasized the importance of connecting festivals with social service. She said, ‘Culture is preserved, we meet with relatives and friends, and at the same time, we can help citizens affected by disasters. That is why we have organized this year’s program in connection with the campaign to help flood victims.’
The bridal makeup competition saw participation from 25 contestants. Sunita Rai was declared the winner, while Aslina Gurung and Urmila Tamang were named first and second runners-up, respectively. Additionally, Junu Shrestha was awarded Best Performer, Muna Rai won Best Ramp Walk, Sunita Lama received the award for Best Traditional Attire Presentation, and Saru Gurung was named Style Icon of the Event. The winners were also presented with crowns.
The program, which included various cultural performances and entertainment, was attended by individuals from diverse sectors. Facial House has been organizing various cultural events annually since its inception.
