KATHMANDU: The market price of eggs has increased in Nepal. The Nepal Layer Poultry Farmers Association has raised prices effective from Wednesday.
Association secretary Madan Pokharel stated that the price of eggs has increased by Rs 10 to Rs 15 per crate. Under the new pricing structure, consumers will pay Rs 25 for a single large egg, while medium eggs will cost Rs 45 for two.
According to the association, the depot and dealer price for extra-large (XL) eggs has been set at Rs 4,300 per carton. The price for large eggs has been fixed at Rs 4,200 per carton, Pokharel said.
The association further noted that the price of an XL egg crate has reached Rs 615, while a crate of medium eggs is now priced at Rs 600.
