KATHMANDU: A fire broke out at a plastic pellet manufacturing factory in Kaplichok, Suryabinayak Municipality-8, Jagati, on Monday morning.
The fire at BK Suppliers, operated by Nawaraj Bhatta, was brought under control after approximately two hours with the assistance of the Juddha Barun Yantra fire brigade and local residents.
Chief of the Juddha Barun Yantra office in Bhaktapur, Bijay Dhaubhadel, stated that the fire completely destroyed the machinery and raw plastic materials inside the factory. The blaze also caused damage to the adjacent house owned by Dinesh Machamasi.
Police estimated that the fire resulted in damages exceeding Rs 4 million. The cause of the incident remains unknown, and police are currently conducting an on-site investigation and preparing a report. Following the incident, Bagmati Province Chief Minister Kiran Thapa Magar inspected the site.
