Fourteen arrested across Nepal for drug possession

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 14 individuals from various locations across Nepal for the possession of illegal drugs. The arrests were made in Morang, Sunsari, Parsa, Rupandehi, Bardiya, and Chitwan districts.

In Morang, Rajesh Kumar Ray and Radha Krishna Ray from India were arrested in Biratnagar-18 with 52.15 grams of suspected brown heroin. Additionally, Muskan Rai was arrested in Kanepokhari-7 with approximately 1.018 kilograms of cannabis. In Sunsari, Sunil Sardar was held in Itahari-13 with 126 tablets of nitrazepam, while Rikesh Chaudhary was arrested in Itahari-9 with 510 milligrams of suspected brown heroin.

Six individuals were arrested in Birgunj, Parsa. Faiyaz Ansari and one other were apprehended in Birgunj-25 with 150 milligrams of suspected brown sugar. In Birgunj-16, Sidhant Singh and one other were arrested with 610 milligrams of suspected brown sugar, and Raju Manandhar was taken into custody at Rajatjayanti Chowk with 3.88 grams of suspected brown sugar.

In Rupandehi, a teenager from India was arrested in Rohini-5 with 500 ampoules each of diazepam, buprenorphine, and phenergan. In Bardiya, Karna Marsyangdi Magar was arrested in Gulariya-11 with 1.32 grams of suspected brown sugar, and Dipesh Chaudhary was apprehended in Gulariya-6 with 570 milligrams of the same substance. Finally, in Chitwan, David Khadka was arrested in Ratnanagar-4 with 36 tablets of tramadol and 134 grams of cannabis. The suspects are currently in police custody for further investigation.
