KATHMANDU: A gas cylinder exchange service for all brands began at six locations across the Kathmandu Valley on Sunday. The initiative aims to ensure a smooth supply of cooking gas to consumers during the Dashain festival.
Consumers were seen queuing early in the morning at the designated centers to exchange their empty cylinders. Diwan Chand, president of the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association, stated that many consumers traveled from distant areas to exchange their cylinders. For those who could not receive gas on Sunday, coupons were provided for collection on Monday.
Consumers can exchange cylinders from different companies without paying any additional fees. The service will remain operational until Saptami. This arrangement was coordinated by the Nepal Oil Corporation, the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association, the District Administration Office, and the Gas Dealers Federation.
The designated exchange points include the Nepal Gas industry in Balaju, the Sagar Gas warehouse in Pepsicola, the Baba Gas depot in Sukedhara, the Everest and Sugam Gas center in Siphal, the Saibaba and Shrikrishna Gas warehouse in Kalanki, and the Shriram Gas warehouse in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur.
