KATHMANDU: The government has approved the regulations for simplifying and digitalising official decision-making processes for 2083. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar.
The cabinet also established new advance tax rates for gains derived from the disposal of interests in entities listed on the Securities Board of Nepal. For interests held for more than 365 days, an advance tax of 3.5 percent will be applied, while a 5 percent rate will apply to interests held for 365 days or less.
In administrative appointments, the government has promoted Kali Prasad Parajuli of the Nepal Administration Service to the position of secretary, a gazetted special class rank. Additionally, three officials from the Nepal Judicial Service-Thagindra Kattel, Ram Prasad Bhattarai, and Babu Ram Dahal-have been promoted to gazetted special class positions.
Regarding Nepalis who have died or sustained injuries in Saudi Arabia, the government has issued an order to initiate the process for securing insurance and compensation claims. This includes granting power of attorney to Saudi legal professionals to handle the necessary legal proceedings. Furthermore, the cabinet approved the procedural guidelines for the operation of the revolving relief fund for 2083.
