A A+ A-

KATHMANDU: The film ‘Hanuman Ansh’, directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and starring Shobhinav Satya, has set a new record as the most profitable Hindi film in Bollywood history. Produced on a modest budget of Rs 1.8 crore, the film has grossed Rs 425.52 crore worldwide, with a net collection of Rs 326.48 crore in India within 61 days of its release.

Initially experiencing a slow start, the film struggled for the first two weeks. However, it gained massive momentum starting from the third week, surprising the industry. The film has achieved a net profit of Rs 323.68 crore, representing a return of 17,982.22 percent on its budget. This performance surpasses the previous record for the most profitable devotional film, held by the 1975 movie ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’.

The film has set several benchmarks, including the highest earnings in the fifth week of release at Rs 90.25 crore. According to the Indian trade portal Sacnilk, the film continues to earn over Rs 1 crore daily even on its 61st day. It also recorded strong business in its sixth week, exceeding Rs 80 crore.

As of the 61st day, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ ranks as the third highest-grossing film of 2026. It has outperformed major releases such as ‘Mirzapur: The Film’, ‘Bhoot Bangla’, and ‘Toxic’ at the box office. The film’s sustained success after a sluggish opening has been described as a major cinematic achievement.
