KATHMANDU: Home minister Sudhan Gurung visited the CPN-UML central office in Chyasal on Wednesday following a rise in the water level of the Manohara River.
The minister arrived at the site to assess the situation as continuous rainfall continues to impact the area.
The water levels in both the Manohara River and the Bagmati river have been steadily rising due to persistent rain. Officials noted that the water has reached a point where it is threatening to overflow its banks. With the rainfall showing no signs of stopping, the flow of water is expected to increase further.
The rise in water levels has placed the CPN-UML central office in Chyasal at risk of flooding. The office premises previously suffered from flooding last year when the Manohara River overflowed into the building complex.
