KATHMANDU: India dispatched an additional 35 tonnes of relief materials and equipment to Nepal on Wednesday to assist in flood recovery efforts. The aid was transported via an Indian Air Force C-17 transport aircraft.
According to Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, the latest shipment includes NDRF equipment, rescue supplies, forensic materials, and logistical support for military teams. New Delhi has been continuously providing relief aid and essential medicines to Nepal since the disaster began. Previously, on the night of Sept. 3, India delivered over 21 tonnes of emergency supplies across two military flights.
The death toll from the floods has reached 1,367, according to official reports. Nepal Police stated in their latest bulletin that 5,326 people, including 589 foreign nationals, remain missing. Rescue teams are continuing search operations in the affected regions. Data indicates that the highest number of bodies have been recovered from Chitwan, with 363, followed by 226 in Nawalparasi East, 222 in Nawalparasi West, and 197 in Nuwakot.
