KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava held a farewell meeting with Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav on Tuesday.
The meeting took place at the Office of the Vice President, where Yadav congratulated the ambassador on the successful completion of his tenure.
Vice President Yadav commended Ambassador Srivastava for his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and India. He specifically acknowledged India’s support during the recent House of Representatives elections, the long-term power trade agreement, and the active engagement of bilateral mechanisms during Srivastava’s term. Yadav also expressed gratitude for the humanitarian and disaster relief provided by the Indian government during the recent devastating floods, while extending his condolences to the families of the affected Indian citizens and tourists.
Highlighting the historical, cultural, and friendly ties between the two nations, the vice president praised the ambassador’s role in deepening these connections and wished him good health and a successful future.
Ambassador Srivastava noted that the relationship between Nepal and India had become closer during his tenure. He remarked that his time in Nepal was memorable and that he would always cherish the memories of the country and its people.
