KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party chairman Rabi Lamichhane has directed party members to engage in rescue and relief operations for citizens affected by the floods in the Budhigandaki River. The flooding, which occurred on Sunday morning, caused significant damage in the Chumnubri area of Gorkha.
Lamichhane expressed his distress over reports that the flood swept away a critical bridge connecting Nyakchet-Philim and the Gorkha-Dhading border. In a statement on social media, he warned that coastal areas from the Budhigandaki to the Trishuli River remain at high risk of flooding. He urged local residents to move to safer locations and strictly follow the directives issued by the local administration.
Noting that the government is actively involved in rescue efforts, Lamichhane instructed party members to coordinate with the relevant authorities to provide necessary relief and support to the affected population.
