KATHMANDU: A fresh landslide occurred today at Krishnabhir along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading. The landslide pulled the gabion wall, which was supporting the new diversion, towards the Trishuli River.
Although the gabion wall at the lower section of the road was damaged, the main road track currently remains safe. However, debris continues to fall from the area above the diversion.
Traffic movement at Krishnabhir is currently impossible. Access to the site is also difficult due to landslides at other locations along the highway. Vehicles entering and exiting Kathmandu have been held at safe locations.
