KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast light to moderate rain and snowfall in some hilly and mountain regions of Nepal on Monday. The weather is currently being influenced by a combination of westerly and monsoon winds.
According to the department, moderate rain and snowfall are expected in a few locations across the mountain and hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as the mountain areas of Lumbini Province. Additionally, light rain and snowfall are possible in one or two places within the mountain and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and the hilly areas of Lumbini Province.
On Monday, the mountain regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces are expected to be partly to generally cloudy, while other mountain and hilly areas will see partial cloud cover. The weather in the Terai region is expected to remain mostly clear.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, the department predicts partial cloud cover in the mountain and hilly regions, with the weather in the hilly areas expected to remain mostly clear. Light rain and snowfall are likely in one or two locations across the mountain and hilly regions on Tuesday as well.
