KATHMANDU: The number of cooking gas distribution centers in the Kathmandu Valley has been increased to 11 to ensure supply during the Dashain festival.
The Nepal LP Gas Industry Association stated that the service was expanded from the initial six locations in coordination with the Nepal Oil Corporation and the Gas Dealers Federation.
New locations added from Monday include Bhanu in Chapali Budhanilkantha, Nepal and HP gas in Harisiddhi, Gita in Kalanki, Sitashree at RK Traders in Khasibazar, and Shrimaya in Santugal. These complement the existing centers established on Sunday, which include sites in Harisiddhi, Kalanki, Sukedhara, the Balaju Industrial Area, Pepsi Cola, and Sifalchaur.
Consumers can exchange empty cylinders of any brand for a filled cylinder of an available brand at these designated centers without paying any additional fees. The association clarified that this exchange service is only available at these specific locations.
The arrangement will remain in effect until Oct. 16, with operations running daily from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On the first day of the service, Sunday, a total of 3,075 cylinders were distributed across the various companies involved, according to the association.
