KATHMANDU: The Mechi Customs Office in Kakarbhitta has collected Rs 2.83 billion in revenue during the first two months of the current fiscal year. The office reported that it has achieved 92.14 percent of its total revenue collection target of Rs 3.07 billion set for the months of Shrawan and Bhadra.
According to the office, revenue collection in Shrawan stood at Rs 1.27 billion against a target of Rs 1.43 billion. In Bhadra, the office collected Rs 1.55 billion against a target of Rs 1.64 billion. The collection performance improved from 89.19 percent in Shrawan to 94.73 percent in Bhadra.
Chief Customs Officer Shiva Lal Neupane stated that revenue collection in Bhadra has increased by 9.43 percent compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. In Bhadra of the previous year, the office collected Rs 1.36 billion. Neupane attributed the positive trend in revenue collection to a gradual improvement in cross-border trade and stricter administration at the customs point.
