KATHMANDU: A youth who went missing following heavy snowfall in the religious and tourist site of Badimalika in Bajura has been found dead. The 20-year-old victim, identified as Manish Bohara from Daiji in Bedkot Municipality-2, Kanchanpur, was found dead near Triveni Patan on Sunday morning.
A security team was deployed from the district headquarters, Martadi, via helicopter on Sunday morning to search for the missing youth. The body was discovered during the search operation. Authorities are now preparing to airlift the body and the security personnel back to Martadi.
Heavy snowfall has left several pilgrims stranded in the Badimalika region. Previously, 21-year-old Sagar Karki from Krishnapur Municipality-2, Kanchanpur, who was stranded at a shelter in Triveni Patan, was rescued by helicopter and brought to Martadi on Saturday. Karki had been stuck at the shelter since Friday after being caught in the snowfall while returning from a pilgrimage to Badimalika.
