KATHMANDU: A motorcyclist died following a collision with a mini truck in Arkul, Siranchowk Rural Municipality-7 of Gorkha district.
The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon at approximately 12:30 p.m. when a mini truck, identified by registration number Ga 1 Kha 6380, traveling from Barhakilo toward Barpak, struck a motorcycle with registration number Ba 2-035 Pa 0986 coming from the opposite direction.
The motorcycle rider, identified as 29-year-old Anil Shrestha from Khoplang, Palungtar Municipality-1, sustained critical injuries in the crash. He was immediately transported to the provincial hospital in Gorkha by police vehicle for emergency treatment. However, doctors declared him dead at 3 p.m., according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, Gorkha.
The victim’s body has been kept at the provincial hospital, and his family has been notified of the incident. Police have taken the driver of the mini truck, 31-year-old Dilip Bhatta of Gorkha Municipality-2, into custody. Both vehicles involved in the collision remain at the scene, and further investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.
