BUTWAL: A motorcyclist died after his vehicle plunged into the Tinau River in the Siddhibaba area of Tinau Rural Municipality-3, Palpa, on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Navaraj Panta from Chhatrakot Rural Municipality-3, Gulmi.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhimlal Bhattarai, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Palpa, the motorcycle, bearing registration number Lu 74 Pa 9171, was traveling from Butwal to Palpa when the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near the lower Siddhibaba temple.
Following the accident, police teams reached the site and rescued Panta in critical condition. He was immediately rushed to Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal for emergency treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead during the course of treatment, said DSP Bhattarai. Police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
