KATHMANDU: A motorcyclist died following a collision with a pickup truck in Hetauda, Makwanpur, on Monday.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. along the Hetauda-Bhainse road section in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-1, Samari. The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Binod Lama, a resident of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-10, Buddhachowk, according to the District Police Office, Makwanpur.
Police stated that the pickup truck, which was transporting chili and traveling from Hetauda towards Bhainse, collided with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Lama, who sustained injuries in the crash, was rushed to Hetauda Hospital for treatment. He was declared dead by doctors at the hospital at 5:10 p.m.
Madhav Prasad Kafle, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Makwanpur, confirmed that police have taken the pickup truck (Ba.Pra.01-032 Cha 0141), the motorcycle (Ba.47 Pa 8461), and the driver of the pickup truck into custody for further investigation.
