NA holds 52 meetings in current session

KATHMANDU: The 21st session of the National Assembly (NA) has been concluded with a total of 52 meetings that consumed 98 hours and 10 minutes.

As NA chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal shared at the end of the ongoing session on Friday, the proceedings took place over 145 days, kicking off on May 11 and wrapping up on October 2.

Chairman Dahal informed the NA members that out of the total meetings, 40 were held with zero hour.

Even the information on how much time the NA members had utilized while discussing pressing issues was brought to light.

In four meetings, 27 members took five hours and 27 minutes deliberating on various issues, and 22 members sat for one hour and 56 minutes to address emergency issues in nine sittings.

During this session, a significant resolution on disaster management was introduced.

Similarly, the NA unanimously adopted a special motion, expressing condolence to the victims of the Bhotekoshi flood disaster.

The NA recorded total 35 verbal question and answer sessions involving 15 ministries, and written responses from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
