KHAJURA: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Lumbini Province Division Office in Nepalgunj has made the contact numbers of its 10 distribution center chiefs public to improve service accessibility. The initiative aims to make power-related services more streamlined, transparent and effective for consumers.

The division office has installed informative banners at all distribution centers displaying the contact details of both the center chiefs and the provincial division head. Consumers can now directly contact the respective center chiefs for services including line extensions, new meter installations, capacity upgrades, ownership transfers and meter replacements.

Division Chief Engineer Deepak Gautam stated that the move is intended to eliminate unnecessary hurdles for consumers and ensure efficient service delivery. “We had released such information previously as well. We have now re-issued the information with further revisions from the central office, expecting it to make the service process even more convenient for consumers,” Gautam said.

The office has urged consumers to pay only the official service fees and ensure they receive a receipt. Furthermore, consumers are advised not to provide extra money, commissions or gifts to intermediaries. In case of any delays, demands for extra payments or improper behavior, consumers are encouraged to report the matter directly to the respective center or division chief. “We are making efforts to reach consumers with necessary information to ensure transparency. We urge them to directly inform the concerned officials if they face any problems or complaints during the service process,” said Gautam.

The banners display contact numbers for centers across six districts: Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Rukum East, Rolpa and Pyuthan. The authority expects that this arrangement will reduce the need for consumers to visit the office physically and ensure that complaints are addressed more quickly at the local level.
