Nepal and India agree to expand economic partnership

KATHMANDU: Nepal and India have reached an agreement to expand their economic partnership. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, who is currently on a visit to India, held a bilateral meeting with Indian Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two leaders held extensive discussions on strengthening and broadening the long-term economic partnership between the two nations, alongside various aspects of development cooperation. The talks focused on key areas of bilateral interest, including post-flood reconstruction, trade, investment, energy, and connectivity.

According to the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, the dialogue is considered significant for accelerating ongoing economic and development efforts between the two countries and for enhancing mutual cooperation.
