KATHMANDU: The Nepal stock market saw a marginal decline on Wednesday. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the benchmark index fell by 4.82 points to close at 2,598.89 points.
The sensitive index, which tracks the performance of large-cap companies, dropped by 2.02 points to 464.63 points. Similarly, the float index shed 0.43 points to 179.02, and the sensitive float index declined by 0.65 points to 156.78 points.
A total of 12,655,374 shares were traded throughout the day, resulting in a turnover of Rs 4.76 billion. Specifically, the transaction value stood at Rs 4,765,127,885.
Out of the 13 sub-indices, three recorded gains while 10 saw declines. During the session, the share prices of 109 companies increased, while 157 companies experienced a drop. The share prices of 13 companies remained unchanged.
According to NEPSE, investors in Sindhu Bikas Bank, Sayapatri Hydropower, and Ghalemdi Hydropower were among the top gainers. Meanwhile, investors in Sanima Growth Fund, Chirkhwa Hydropower, and Soppan Pharmaceuticals were among the top losers.
