KATHMANDU: The Nepal stock market index, NEPSE, dropped by more than 16 points on the first trading day of the week, Monday. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the index fell by 16.47 points to close at 2,613.33 points.
Despite the decline in the index, trading volume remained significant. A total of 13.17 million shares were traded across the market, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 5.38 billion.
Among the sectoral sub-indices, the trading group saw a marginal gain of 0.23 percent, while the remaining 12 sub-indices ended in the red. During the session, the share prices of 223 companies declined, while only 50 companies recorded gains.
The Nepal Stock Exchange reported that the price of Laxmi Sunrise Debenture rose by 15 percent, and the price of KBL Debenture increased by 12.17 percent.
