KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom has launched new 2G and 4G mobile sites across various locations in the country throughout the month of August. The expansion aims to improve service quality and coverage, according to company spokesperson Dr. Kamal Lamichhane.
The new sites were installed across 13 locations spanning 11 districts. In Bagmati Province, new infrastructure was set up at the Lalitpur Metropolitan City-3 office and Chaundanda. Other installations include Mohanpur in Chitwan, Pokharidanda in Nawalpur, and Madhyanepal in Lamjung, which falls under Gandaki Province.
In Lumbini Province, new sites are now operational in Dharmapani of Kapilvastu, as well as Rampur and Hongsi in Palpa. Developments in Karnali Province include new towers in Kanakasundari of Jumla and along the Surkhet-Jumla road. Additionally, Sudurpashchim Province saw new mobile sites commissioned in Badimalika of Bajura, Gankhet of Dadeldhura, and Rithachaupata of Darchula.
Nepal Telecom stated that the activation of these sites will enhance mobile and data connectivity while improving overall service quality in these regions. The company plans to continue adding new sites in areas where telecommunications services are currently unavailable or require further expansion.
