KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress is preparing to reschedule its 15th general convention, which was previously slated for Sept. 16-19.
The decision to postpone the event comes as the party failed to complete its ward, municipal, and provincial-parliamentary constituency conventions within the original timeline.
While the ward-level conventions that began on Sept. 3 are mostly complete, the municipal conventions scheduled for Sept. 7 and the provincial and parliamentary constituency conventions scheduled for Sept. 10 have only been partially finished. Party leader Paudel stated that a formal decision regarding the change in dates would be made through a meeting of the central executive committee or the central working committee.
‘The date for the central general convention will be decided by the executive or working committee meeting. The election committee is adjusting the subordinate schedules based on the situation,’ Paudel said.
