KATHMANDU: The Nepal stock market saw a marginal recovery on Thursday after a period of consistent decline. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the index rose by 0.26 points to close at 2599.15.
The total turnover for the day reached Rs 4.89 billion, with 12 million units of shares traded. Market activity showed that the share prices of 139 companies increased, while 128 companies recorded a decline. The prices of 12 companies remained unchanged.
Among the gainers, the share price of Sindhu Bikas Bank rose by 10.11 percent, while other stocks saw gains of up to 9.35 percent. Conversely, some stocks recorded a decline of up to 9.66 percent during the day’s trading session.
Sector-wise, the commercial bank, development bank, finance, and hydropower indices posted gains, while the remaining sectors experienced a decline.
